Publishing to your web site

In order to publish your web design master piece, you will need a piece of software called an FTP client. FTP simply stands for File TRansfer Protocol. An excellent freeware (that means you don't have to pay for it!) FTP client called "Cupertino" can be down loaded from this site. To down load "Cupertino", click here. The version on this site may not be the most up to date. If you require the latest version, check out http://sr5.xoom.com/CupertinoFTP. Once you have got hold of your copy, you will need to install and configure it. You will need to have WinZip installed on your computer to extract "Cupertino" as it is compressed. The instructions below should help you to get started and they presume that you know your way around your hard drive...if you don't it's not going to be easy get your design onto your website!

1) Make a folder on your hard drive called "Cupertino".
2) Down load a "Cupertino" archive by clicking on one of the above links.
3) Point your download to the "Cupertino" folder.
4) Once the download has finished, double click on the "cupertino.zip" file. This should launch WinZip. Extract the files to your "Cupertino" folder.
5) Double click on the Cupertino icon and press the close button on the license agreement.
6) In the left hand windows, delete "Software archives" and "Company sites".
7) From the menu bar, select File->New FTP site (dont make the mistake of clicking on File->New FTP site folder).
8) In the form, enter the following imformation:-

Host address 194.164.90.71
Use anonymous login Remove tick
User ID Enter your FTP user ID*
Password Enter your FTP password *
Port 21
Login directory Leave this blank
Comments Leave this blank
Inside firewall No tick

* Your FTP user ID and password can be found on your account details issued by INCA (ref IDOC-007)

9) Click OK.

To connect to the site you will first need to have your normal internet connection open. Next click the + beside "My web site". To send items to the site, simply drag and drop the files onto the "My web site" icon in the Cupertino explorer window. To copy files from the site, do the reverse.
